About us: History
of Hillingdon Hospital
The hospital first became Uxbridge County Hospital in 1930 using the buildings
of Uxbridge Union Workhouse which had been erected in 1834. The workhouse
origin goes back as far as 1744 to the building of the first nine room Hillingdon
parish workhouse on the site in Pield Heath Road.
