The Children’s Outpatients Department is open from 08.30–18.00 Monday to Friday.

Catering for the age range 0-16, we are located within the Paediatric unit at then end of the main corridor on the lower ground floor next to Wendy Ward. It has four clinic rooms and a large play/waiting area. The close proximity of the out patients department to Wendy Ward offer the option of blood tests to be performed on the same day. We also offer a ‘One Stop’ allergy service where allergy testing, diagnosis and treatment occur all on the same day. |
What clinics are based in the department?
Whilst it is our aim to have all the children’s clinics together this is currently not possible. Some of the clinics due to their specialism can not be located in the children’s department. We do however offer:
- Haematology clinics
- Oncology clinics
- General paediatric clinics
- Dermatology clinics
- Endocrinology clinics
- Diabetes clinics
- Neurological clinics
- Respiratory clinics
- Allergy clinics
- Paediatric surgical clinics
- Dietetics
As well as the many doctors in the outpatients department we also have three specialist nurses who also have their own clinics:
- Alison Summerfield – Senior Paediatric Respiratory & Allergy Nurse Specialist
- SJ Stock – Paediatric Respiratory & Allergy Nurse Specialist
- Nigel Thorpe – Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist
