What is Great Expectations?
Great Expectations is the new charity for The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust maternity and midwifery department. The charity comes under the main umbrella of the Trust's charitable fund, registered charity number 1056493.
Why was the charity created?
The charity was created because the maternity and midwifery department is in need of major refurbishment. Great Expectations aims to raise £1.5 million for new labour delivery rooms, a reception area and waiting areas, hence the term 'Great Expectations'! The Trust has recently received a new theatre to kick-start the refurbishment.
We have raised £17,600 so far, but there is still a long way to go, and we need your help.

Last month at Uxbridge swimming pool, two teams of staff from The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust took part in a fundraising swimathon event. The swimathon aimed to raise money for both the Trust’s new maternity and midwifery charity; Great Expectations, and Marie Curie Cancer Care. The teams swam 2.5 km each which is a fantastic achievement.
