![]() Equality and EngagementWe are proud of our multinational working community. Just over 17% of Hillingdon’s population are in an ethnic minority and around 31% of our workforce. The Trust is fully committed to equality and fairness of opportunity, and recognises that having access to diverse talents and skills is vital to securing the best employees and providing high quality healthcare to patients. Also see our Equality Impact Assessment (EIA).
Equality Delivery SystemThe Trust will be implementing the new Equality Delivery System (EDS) which is about real people making real improvements to services that can be sustained over time. It focuses on the things that matter the most for patients, communities and staff. It emphasises genuine engagement, transparency and the effective use of evidence. The EDS is not about occasional consultation; it is not a paper-chase and is not a self-assessment.
Patient, staff and public consultation. Disability Equality DutyThe Disability Equality Duty (DED) affects around 45,000 bodies in the way they plan and deliver services to the UK's 10m disabled people. We have published a plan showing how we intend to meet our obligations.
