![]() About us: Trust BoardWhat it DoesThe Trust Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Trust and ensuring that the Trust exercises its functions effectively, efficiently and economically. The Board monitors the arrangements that are in place to maintain the quality and safety of the Trust’s services, including ensuring processes are in place for managing risks. Non-Executive Directors have a particular role in scrutinising the performance of the Trust’s management in meeting agreed objectives, and ensuring that robust systems of financial control and risk management are in place. Non-Executive Directors are not employees of the Trust and do not have responsibility for the day to day management of the Trust: this is the role of the Chief Executive and Executive Directors. Who is on itThe Trust Board is led by the Chairman of the Trust, and comprises Executive and Non-Executive Directors. As a ‘unitary Board’, Executive and Non-Executive Directors share equal responsibility for the Board’s decisions, and both share responsibility for the direction and control of the organisation.
Trust Board MeetingsThe Trust Board meets monthly and meetings are open to the public except when confidential information is being discussed. Details of public Board meetings are available, including minutes and papers from previous meetings: Trust board meeting dates and documents. Board CommitteesThe Board has established Committees to assist it in its work. This includes an Audit & Assurance Committee which is comprised solely of Non-Executive Directors. The Audit & Assurance Committee's terms of reference (pdf, 33KB) are available to download.
