Plan for your health this Easter bank holiday

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, some GP surgeries and pharmacies may be closed, or working reduced hours, so it is important to take this into consideration when planning for your healthcare needs during this time.

If you receive medication for an existing condition, you may wish to order and collect any repeat prescriptions ahead of the long weekend.

Pharmacists are well advised to support with minor medical problems. A list of local services that will be open over the Easter weekend can be found on the NHS north west London website. You can also find information on the NHS Find a Pharmacy site, which will be updated regularly to show the opening hours of local pharmacies over the bank holidays.

If you are unsure whether urgent medical or dental care is needed over the Easter break, NHS 111 remains the best first port of call. You can access the service online, or by dialling 111.

NHS 111 connects you with highly trained advisors, supported by healthcare professionals, who can help direct you to the correct service and ensure you get the right treatment as soon as possible.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please remember that calling 999 is for life-threatening emergencies only.
