Safer staffing

Safer staffing levels

From April 2014 it became a national requirement for all hospitals to publish information about staffing levels on wards, including the percentage of shifts meeting their planned staffing levels. This initiative is part of the NHS response to the Report of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry (Francis Report) which called for greater openness and transparency in the health service.

We recognise that having the right staff, with the right skills in the right place at the right time is a critical factor in achieving our vision: ‘To provide high quality, safe and compassionate care, improving the health and wellbeing of the people that we serve’.
