Matt Hancock visits Hillingdon Hospital

Date published: 12 February 2020

Matt Hancock chatting to Sarah Tedford

Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, visited Hillingdon Hospital, shown around by CEO Sarah Tedford. The tour included Lister Ward, meeting some patients for a chat on the route. He was here to discuss the options for rebuilding Hillingdon Hospital and to see for himself some of the challenges that our ageing estate provides for our patients and our staff.

After the tour, where he met Lister Ward Sister Debs Peat and nurses in her team, Mr Hancock went into an hour of discussions with Sarah Tedford plus our Chair, Sir Amyas Morse, and a number of stakeholders and NHS representatives. Our Trust recently received funding to work up the business case and the options for the rebuild, and work on this is now progressing rapidly.
