In January, the double success of two Estates and Facilities Teams - Bed Maintenance and Bio-Medical Equipment Maintenance - was confirmed through their re-achievement of the coveted ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management. Both teams achieved ISO 9001 in 2018 and undertook their very detailed annual re-assessments by BSI (British Safety Institute) and passed with flying colours.

The assessments are to check that the teams continue to meet the comprehensive standards and can provide evidence to prove that they put quality first and that their customers are happy with the services provided. Recent customer satisfaction surveys have shown 100% satisfaction with the service provided by both teams. ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies the requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organisations use the standard to demonstrate that they have the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Steve Wedgwood, Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities said: "This is great news for Sue Bolt and Raj Bhalla and their teams and demonstrates that they really do provide a quality service. We are committed in Estates and Facilities to putting our other services forward to go for ISO accreditation to put quality first."
