Public asked to remain safe over the May Bank Holiday weekend

Date published: 28 May 2021

With the weather set to brighten up over the May bank holiday weekend, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is asking the public to remain safe while enjoying the sunny weather with family and friends.

With the restrictions slowly lifting after the third lockdown, pubs, restaurants and gyms have re-opened, outdoor gatherings have been eased to a limit of 30 people and meeting indoors in groups of six and or two households is now possible. However, residents in Hillingdon and the surrounding areas are being reminded to remain safe and cautious to protect themselves and their loves ones.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Chief Executive, Patricia Wright, said: “The Bank Holiday weekend is a great time to get out and about, enjoy the weather and catch up with loved ones that we may not have seen for some time now. However I wish to urge everyone to follow the national guidelines.

“It remains vitally important to continue following ‘Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air’ wherever possible and get tested if you have symptoms. Covid-19 remains highly contagious and even people without symptoms can spread the virus."
