Antenatal classes

We provide a course of antenatal classes for expectant women and birthing people.

Antenatal education is the foundation that provides expecting parents with strategies for dealing with pregnancy; labour and parenthood, to help women and birthing people make informed decisions, which helps them to approach pregnancy and birth as positive experience. It is an important and valued element of our maternity and child health services, for all parents.

The topics covered in our antenatal classes are:

  • A journey through pregnancy
  • Preparing mind and body
  • Labour and birth
  • When things goes off the normal course
  • Welcoming your new baby
  • A pathway to parenthood.

Listen online to our podcast: Antenatal classes at Hillingdon and beyond

Due to our antenatal classes being very popular and in high demand by services users at Hillingdon Hospital and hospitals throughout the UK, it is online, but interactive and everyone is encouraged to ask questions. There will also be opportunities after attending the antenatal classes for parents to meet face to face.

Partners and Birthing partners are welcome to the classes too.
